Sneak Peak At My Weekend

Those of you who follow me on Twitter may have heard me gushing about my exciting weekend. I spent Sunday with the lovely Carol from My Stylisms, she has a little side project that I'm helping out with. But I've been sworn to secrecy - sorry folks! Here's a little sneaky look at what we were doing:

Stay tuned to hear all about it soon.

Pink Sunday

Today my pink Sunday is this stunning dress from Dorothy Perkins. Yet again I've been browsing the internet when I should be saving my pennies but you can't blame me when I find beauties like this!?

Heatbreak Hotel

This week I was introduced to a slice of heaven, Heartbreaker Fashion. It is a vintage inspired website which is just full of clothes that just need to be in my wardrobe! Here are my favourites:
Anita Dress is perfect, just perfect.

Vanessa Dress is also pretty lush but I would need a bright belt round the waist.

But this is my absolute favourite:

Paradise Dress Katrina Everything from the one shoulder down to the knee length skirt is just awesome, so girly and pretty.
Now I need to start saving my pennies so that I can afford to get lots of dresses like this!

I am in love

Today I fell head over heels for a yellow dress. I don't even like yellow, but this Christian Dior dress is utterly breathtaking. It's completely ladylike, the soft colour and full skirt are perfection. I would honestly wear it everywhere, just to keep me smiling. And here is the new love of my life:

The whole show was stunning, each model was perfect from head to toe. Here are my other favourites from the show:

Pink Sunday

Firstly I wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who read my post yesterday about dieting and an even bigger thank you to everyone who got in touch, you all made my heart sing.

I am addicted to Folksy, and I stumbled across the Mirabilis shop this week and it's chocka full of cute jewellery. Check out this cute skull necklace.

Not an easy post to write

So those of you who follow me on twitter may have seen my tweets this morning about dieting and I got so much support on twitter that I thought I would write a post about it. Every year I make a resolution to eat less food and drink more water regardless of my size, and I stick to it for about a week and go back to eating sweets and drinking cider. Now that I live in Scotland, I work in an office with a canteen that serves food deep fried with a side of mayonnaise coated salad where I actually saw a fella put a Scotch pie in a roll - no word of a lie! Understandably, I have piled on a fair few pounds..

This is me at my preferred size, only a few years ago with a teeny waist and no double chin!

Now don't  get me wrong, I'm not some hefer who only wears jogging bottoms! Luckily I stay the same shape regardless of my size and I've learnt an awful lot from Gok Wan over the years on how to dress my shape accordingly:

But even with the waist belts, control pants/tights and hours of standing up straight with my tummy pulled in, it's just not quite enough. I am just not a gym bunny so I've decided to go on the hunt for a good diet/eating plan and after flirting with the idea of the dreaded cabbage soup diet the lovely Ree has suggested the Dukan Diet (and she has a cracking figure). Is anyone else doing it? After doing to reading online it seems like a good plan that will lead me into a more long term healthy lifestyle rather than just a crash diet followed by a binge on sweets!

So any other suggestions of a good diet, advice on how you keep your figure would be fantastic! Thank you for taking the time to read my first 'serious' post - don't panic - I'll still be posting the colourful and light hearted posts I always do :)

Little Big Planet Fun

I wish I had the time to do things like this!

Hair Crush

I wish my hair would grow to this length.

Stairway to Rainbow

How perfect is this rainbow staircase? I have no stairs as I live in a rented flat, but if I did, I'd definitely paint them into a rainbow.

Found on this blog.

Trouser Advice

I look forward to summer all year round, even though Scotland's summers are notoriously bad! So I've been looking through the Primark images for SS11 on Marie Claire's site and I think that I am in love with these polazzo pants but are they really for girls with curves?

I'm also enjoying these ones from Topshop:

And these from ASOS:

Distractions from the plague

Anyone who knows me knows that I've been off work and in my PJ's this week due to the plague (fact, no melodrama here!). It has been a great excuse to watch one of my all time favourite films, Howl's Moving Castle. It's just beautiful, from the animation through to the gorgeous characters, and yes a have a little inappropriate crush on Howl.

Not only have I been watching great films but catching a glimpse of Shane on Loose Women has reminded me how excited I am to be seeing Boyzone in March. It will be my first time seeing them, ever, so I'm bound to regress into a 12 year old girl and pass out...

Other activities to take my mind off coughing have included making a Pacman and ghosts for brooches and necklaces.

Tiny Pets

I am a lover all things miniature.. they are always cuter than normal sized things. So these tiny hedgehogs are cute enough to make me squeal (in my husky, sore voice). Just look at them:

Because I live in a rented flat, I am not allowed pets but I might start saving for one, just in case. If you want one of these little baby hogs, click here.

Agron's Amazing

So everyone's talking about the Golden Globes today. And just to join in, here is my absolute favourite.  Dianna Agron from Glee, has got everything right for me; not only is the dress to die for but her hair is fantastic. Beautifully wavy and swept away from her face, this is the style I am looking to emulate once my hair grows.

Revlon, Now and Then

I was pleasantly surprised at this great piece of advertising from Revlon. Glamour never goes out of fashion and this just proves it. The first ad was published in 1952 with Dorian Leigh has been recreated with Jessica Biel, I have to admit that I still prefer the original.

Pink Sunday

Today I am coughing like a middle aged smoker! What's my treatment of choice? Pretty pink things from Accessorize of course!

Jessie J's Bob Perfection

Jessie J has just burst into the mainstream with her song Do it Like a Dude. Her styling is just great, with her sharp bob and fierce make up is to die for!

Hair and make up crush

This Guess advert is pretty self explanatory, this is the reason that I am growing my hair. I hope to grow my hair and wear liquid eye liner, maybe  I should ditch the cupcakes in an attempt to get a waist like that too?

Giant Cupcakes are on Me!

My first successful giant cupcake.

My first try was a bit rubbish, was literally a flop!

Pink Sunday

This pink bag is just perfect! The colour is my favourite kind of pink, the Ted Baker, Fay Clutch is to die for. Selfridges I adore this.

Bows and Brooches

I went a bit barmy in Primark this afternoon, along with two dresses much like this, I bought the cutest tights with bows

These shiny brooches, how sweet is the sea horse?

And I also treated myself to some Lee Stafford, matt fat chalk styler, in a vain hope to give my hair some body, has anyone tried it?

My friends are cooler than me

This is something that I have long dealt with, I'm a bit of a geek but am friends with some of the coolest people on this planet. My best friend, Kirsty Wood, is an artist living the dream in London. She makes things like this:

And now her and her partner in crime, Paul, have been running Shift out of their home in a old council block in Mile End. Look how lovely they both look!

To find out more about Shift click here.
