Vintage Pink

So, you all know that I am obsessed with my hair and I've had it pink for a while now so when I saw Katy Perry had gone pink too I was a little sad (but only because I thought it might lead to hundreds of copy cats!) and it's so pretty!
Now, the purpose of this blog post is for one of you lovelies to help me figure out how to style my hair like this:
Help!

A Little Bit Of Love For Navy

I am back! After a manic few weeks, I am finally starting to feel human again - thank goodness! I seem to have developed a navy obsession since I've been away too.. which is weird because I'm very much a black fan. So far this week I have purchased this dress from Peacocks:

I am not entirely sure about the dress, it's so not my style but I am going to give it a good whirl, I also bought these bad boys from Schuh:

Yes I will be roughly 7 feet tall but it'll be totally worth it right? I can't actually walk in them so I need a volunteer to teach my to walk in them please! I think I'll keep them both for my office Christmas party, now let the pre-Christmas starvation to begin!

Halloween Feet

You may have heard my prattling on about not going to a fancy dress party this Halloween (I do now have splendid plans with a friend and her fella, woop!) but I have been channelling my Halloween excitement into my work. So welcome to the Halloween home page for Schuh:

Happy Halloween kids! I can't wait to see all your outfits.

Getting Ready for Halloween

Halloween is my favourite time of year (after Christmas that is), but this year I am unable to party away in a home-made outfit - which usually falls apart by the end of the night - but that has not stopped me obsessing over all the Halloween goodies that are out there just now (you should see my Pinterest board).

These pumpkins are so cute and fun, but Pinterest, being Pinterest means that I can't find the origin of the pin!

Martha Stewart has created my absolute perfect dinner table for the occassion, it has it all, black glitter, black candles and skulls, what more could you want?

And again from Martha Stewart, my favourite Halloween decoration, bats in the lampshade!

Despite not having much of a Halloween this year, I have been working on a little treat which I'll share with you all once I take some good photos. Stay tuned!

500 Days of Summer

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I adore Zooey Deschanel, so naturally 500 Days of Summer is one of my favourite films.I mean who wouldn't want to run around IKEA pretending you live there and see boys dancing in parks like this:

Love it. I'm now off to listen to the soundtrack, again!

Pink Tips? Nailed It.

Last week I showed you my blue cornered nails (see them here) and I tried to recreate them freehand but failed, miserably! So I went back to the tutorial (here) and decided to use the steps to create a nude nail with a bright pink tip. I just used a ripped bit of masking tape on each finger and this is what I came up with:

I have to admit, that I love this so much more than the blue corners - probably because they are pink - I was surprised at how easy it was to line up the masking tape and peal off tape. So off you all go, go and paint stripy nails!! I might just try three colours this weekend.

How I Wore The Hat

Do you remember the weird little hat I bought from ASOS? You can see my original post about it here. Well, I finally wore it! And here's the result:

Hat. Yay or nay? on Twitpic

I originally thought I needed to put my hair up to give the retro feel I was going for with my whole outfit (here's the dress I went for) but I decided against it and for the very first time - possibly ever - I kept my hair simple, just straight and flat.

So what do you think? I still wasn't convinced but people loved it.

Pink Sunday

So I've been slacking on the blogging front but I am back with a stonking pink Sunday, i just love this quote print don't you?

I hope you're having a lovely Sunday.

In the Blue Corner

So I saw this tutorial on Dainty Squid and I loved it! But when I got around to finally doing it I realised that I had no masking tape! So no triangles for me, just a little blue corners (that were surprisingly not messy). Here they are:

This week I am definitely going to try the triangles but what colours do you think I should use?

Pink Trees

That's right, you read my blog title correctly. Pink trees!!! I can't decide whether the are Photoshopped or not, I mean, do pink trees really exist? Am I proving just how blonde I am by even questioning it? Someone please help! They are so darned pretty.

Found here on  AnOther.

Pink Sunday

So this Sunday I've been nursing a hangover, discovering Bridezillas (I'm officially scared of ALL brides to be now) and singing along to Grease at the GFT!
Grease is one of my all time favourite films, mostly because of the styling, and there's an awful lot of pink, pencil skirts, neck ties, quiffs, leather jackets and jirating... I could go on! Part of me always wanted to be a Pink Lady

and I totally blame Frenchie for my obsession with pink hair (even if hers was a mistake):

So basically, not only do I wish I'd lived through this era, I kind of just wish I was living in this film, hand jiving away with John Travolta because no matter how wrong it is, I adore him in this film!

I hope you've all had a lovely Sunday!

Dancing with Lanvin

Has everyone seen the Lanvin A/W advert? If you haven't you need to, and here it is:

I was shown it today and I can barely wipe the smile off my face! I especially love that the red headed model looks like she's trying so hard not to laugh!

In other news, the hat I was freaking out about yesterday (see the post here) -  I will update this evening as to whether I love it or whether it's in fact ridiculous.

20 September 2011

To hat or not to hat

So today I ordered this hat from ASOS.

But I'm really not sure! I will get it tomorrow. It might well be a bit too old lady cutesy for me!

Emmy Outfits

I know that everyone is talking about London Fashion week but I have spent my lunch time drooling over the dresses from last night's Emmy Awards. So here are my favourites:

Firstly, the tiny Kelly Osborne in a gorgeous J Mendel dress. although I'm not sure about her hair colour any more:

I'm a sucker for red dresses, they are always my reliable second choice after a black dress, so Lea Michele in this Marchesa dress is so, so, beautiful:

Of course, it goes without saying that my absolute favourite was the old school glamour of Christina Hendricks (the obsession is back):

Pink Sunday

So this week's Pink Sunday has got me all excited. Mostly because it's a little self involved! I've been considering changing my hair for a good few weeks and I've been coveting my red hair (more like Joan from Mad Men) obsession but this morning I decided against it, I decided to give in to the urge to be completely ridiculous and went for this:

It's mostly because I adore this lady and totally aspire to be like her:

Happy Sunday everyone!

Furry ASOS Coat

Is it wrong to really adore this coat? I all ready have a faux fur coat so there is no need for me to purchase this from ASOS but it's too cute...

Hurry up hair and GROW!

The title of this post pretty much sums up my feelings on this photograph. My hair really needs to grow so that I can do this to it:

I just can't get away with two different dip dye colours on my shoulder length hair!

Photograph found here, in the endless pit of inspiration that is Pinterest, which means sadly I can't find the original source.

Pink Sunday

You may have seen my pink ombre nails earlier in the week, if you didn't you can see them here. So I decided to team them with my newly purchased face paint from Models Own and use it as lipstick - I am now a total convert! The colour is so strong and bright!

Now I am taking the boy to Edinburgh for lunch with one of my besties and her sister, I can't wait! Enjoy the sunny Sunday everyone!

Sparkly Pandas

Oh dear, my chubby fingers just won't let me wear this sparkly panda ring. I am GUTTED!

It's so cute though right? Someone I know needs to purchase this just so that I can look at it!

Giant Moustaches

Everyone knows that I have an unhealthy obsession with moustaches... (see other tash-tastic posts here) But is it any wonder when companies like Urban Outfitters keep sending me amazing things like this:

Now I've got to admit that £30 seems a little excessive for two pillow cases, so I might well try and make my own. Get your own moustache pillow set here.

Jon Kortajarena for Tom Ford

Two of my favourite things in fashion are Tom Ford and Jon Kortajarena. And now they are together again! I die!

The rest of the campaign is pretty darn good too:

Who's your favourite Tom Ford model? I'm partial to a couple of the.. See my other favourite here.

Pink Ombre Fingers

You all know I adore ombre anything, hair, skirts, nails, you name it, I love it! So after my first attempt at ombre where I experimented with blues (see it here) I've now branched out into my most predictable colour, pink!

My ring finger pink and White are from the Models Own fifty fifty sale! So thank you Models Own for completing my pink ombre!

What do you think?

Perfect House of Black

Yesterday I published some images from my back stage work for House of Black and this is my absolute favourite! So it's getting it's own post, I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

I have some more images to show you soon, but I've been sworn to secrecy by work! So you'll have sit tight, I can't wait to show you.

House is not a Home!

Last week I was very kindly invited along to a rehearsal for David Black's (House of Black) first independent fashion show to take some shots of the models strutting their stuff! House of Black is packed full of just breathe-taking garments and stretch from totally wearable to my favourite, the extravagantly conceptual - there's a cling-film dress after all! So here are a few of my favourite shots:

You can have a gender through all of my images here. As always all of my images are copyrighted to me, please do not use them under any circumstances unless I've approved the use.

Keep up to date with House of Black by reading the blog here. Find out more about G2E Events here.

Help Me Wonder Woman!

This is a genuine plea for help! I can not knit but I pretty much need this jumper in my life...

Image from here.

It's so amazing! And as I totally can not pull off an actual Wonder Woman outfit (I mean, even if it looked good, it's totally ridiculous) in the real world, I feel that this jumper is a great way to show off my inner geek without looking like too much of a numpty. So to all of you knitters out there; please consider whether you would knit this for me for money and my eternal love!

Mini Warbler!

Do you love Glee? I DO! Do you follow me on twitter? No? You should! If you do follow me, or have seen me since Friday, you'll have listened to me gushing about the Mini Warbler. As if the Warbler's aren't cute enough all ready, wathcing a tiny little boy to dressed in a tiny Warbler's outfit, sing and dance (and much better then I can) to Teenage Dream is all a little too much!

Cuteness overload!

If you love him, go and see Glee 3D, you will not be disappointed!

My Hair Twin K. Bosworth

Kate Bosworth has totally stolen my hair style! Outrageous! To be fair though, it's really pretty and what I'd like my hair to look like - after all I did try to dye my hair this kind of blonde and it went grey (I trust you not to laugh too much... click here)

Here's my super blonde version, saved with a ton of Live Colour XXL Absolute Platinum and Stargazer's Tropical Green colour:

Totally copied from me, am I right? Who's your hair twin right now?
If anyone has any ideas of how I can darken my blonde locks please get in touch! Bleaching every three weeks is tiring.

Pink Sunday

This weeks Pink Sunday is a really tasty one! PINK CAKES! I've spent today making a big roast dinner and cakes with this icing colour (which really is amazing, the colour is so bright):

Which when put into a beautiful vegan cupcake mix (I'm not vegan but I don't eat dairy and Danielle is allergic to eggs, so between us we are almost vegan - apart from the meat eating...) it does the most delightful colour:

And the best thing about this colour is that is doesn't lose the colour when I baked it! So I ended up with cakes this colour with blue icing and fake chocolate buttons. HEAVEN.

I also did some in reversed colours, you can see them here.

Freakingly Fabulous Fringing

I'm slowly being convinced that fringing is fabulous... mostly because of two emails that I've received today. I'm pretty much in love with this jacket from Matches:

But it's so far out of my price range that I actually might go off and have a little cry, so this jacket from Topshop makes me feel an awful lot better:

But am I really ready for all that fringing?

I'll ponder that question on my way to the cinema to see Glee 3D with Carol from My Stylisms and I honestly can not wait!
